Thinking Lovely
Wrong thinking can
always be made right. Paul told the Philippians to think on these
things, one of which is things that are lovely. Thus came the
thought of thinking lovely. Newscasts today are anything but lovely.
Jesus is altogether lovely.
Bev (my wife) asked me
to write a song for the Ladies Mother’s Day Banquet. This is one of
them. The other song is: 'The Good Times'. Everybody loved the
song except for our daughter’s friend, Sandy Hunt Brightenstein.
This was the first time I experienced and watched someone’s countenance
fall because of the up tempo rock and roll arrangement to the music.
I had asked her before hand if she was ready for this, I don’t believe she
understood the question. She told me she liked the song but not the
music. Her Dad and I were very good friends. My departure from the
old Baptist mentality has caused many people to keep their distance.
The freedom and joy are too great, I can’t go back.
