Joy Will Come In the
Morning
A friend of ours, who is
saved, has a lost son in his 30’s who has been in so much trouble, and
caused even more trouble by hanging himself off their back porch.
She saw him hanging and thought he was dead. She is a small woman
and took a pruning nipper and cut the rope at his neck. He hit like
a sack of potatoes. He lived.
When I spoke with her
son John, I told him he was selfish to put his mother through such an
ordeal, and that he was wrong to think that God couldn’t or wouldn’t help.
It was then that this song came to me. Other family member or
relatives, or other people’s circumstances, because of unwillingness to
follow the Lord Jesus, do not take away a believer’s joy. Situations
will pass. John is alive and still troubled. I can still see
the rope burn in my mind.
I wrote this song for
our friend, and for all believers who face the unbeliever’s circumstances
of trouble. It is a very beautiful song of hope.
