Jesus We Love You So
On a trip back home to
Minnesota in late 1996, for some reason, I told Bev (my wife) I had to
find John Peterson, an old friend of mine, on this trip. After quite
some search, I found him and we met at the McDonald’s in North Branch.
We talked for over five hours.
John took me the
following Monday to meet a friend, Brad Whipps. We played guitars and
sang songs for over nine hours. I knew they both spoke in the
tongues, and I was very interested in how this came to be. I had lost
church members over this.
Asking them to pray in
the tongues, John did so right away. Brad was more hesitant and
waited for God to give him the go ahead. They did, and I was hoping
they would pray for me, and that I would be flooded. They prayed for
me, but nothing happened. They told me of when they first were
flooded.
John had been to a
meeting and folks prayed for him. On his way home he said to God
that he wanted all that he had for him. Speak! He began to
speak in the tongues.
Brad too had been to a
meeting and been prayed for, and that night as he lay in his bed he told God
that he wanted all that he had for him. He was flooded with the
sense, Speak! He began to speak in the tongues.
Before I was flooded in
July 27, 2000, something else happened. These songs started coming,
and it was with this song, 'Jesus I (We) Love You So', that I realized the
blessing of that day and their praying for me.
The song started out as
a slow folk song type, but was quickly changed. I couldn’t contain
it. It moves.
