Great Truths Neglected

Great Truth-For when we were in the flesh,

Rom 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

Question- When were believers in the flesh?

Answer-Before they were saved.

Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Question-Who are the children of the flesh?

Rom 9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed

Question-What is sin?

There are three words used for sin in the Greek:

1. Hamartia= missing the mark of God’s righteousness, the sin all humans are born with from Adam’s fall and makes everyone a sinner until, believing for their salvation.

2. Anamia= transgression of God’s law which produces lawlessness from missing the mark of God’s righteousness producing wrong acts forbidden or not.

3. Adikia=Iniquities which are wrong acts which come from lawlessness, forbidden or not.

Question- Who sins and when?

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth  also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

1 John 3:5 And  ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.

Psalm 92 :15 To shew that the Lord is Upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Question-How can there be sin in the Body Of Christ?

1 John 3:6 Whosoever abides in him sinneth not:

Note-To abide in Christ, is to be born from above (born again).

1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil:

Question-How can some one of the Devil be in the Body of Christ?

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1 John 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Note-Doing righteousness is believing on Jesus. This is the only way to be and do righteousness required by God.

Note-The life of Jesus is the only life God will accept!

Great  Truth Neglected-Salvation is Eternal!

John the baptizer’s message and immersion was not eternal. His disciples had to later change their minds and believe the Good News gospel.

Mark 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.

Mark1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye and believe the gospel.

Note-Repent means to change your mind, change your thinking. The Jews were to change their minds and believe the good news of the kingdom.

John the baptizer preached the baptism of  repentance for the removal of sins. This message was to the Jews only and the Holy Spirit had not yet been given. When he immersed his disciples, they would confess their sins. Then John immersed Jesus.

Note-Immersing in water or confessing sins is not eternal!

John 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

John 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

John 1:8 He was not  that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

John1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 1:13 Which were born  not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Note-New birth is Spiritual (Supernatural), distinct  from natural birth. It is not of bloods, no human element is involved at all. Also, no human achievement of law keeping or good works doing. No vow, no commitment, no promise, no ceremony. These things are not eternal!

Mark 1:10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

Mark 1:11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

1 John 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Note-A believer is righteous even as Jesus is righteous. What a blessing the Savior Anointed!

Great Truth-Christ is raised from the dead and believers are not in their sins; Harmatia, Anamia, Adakia.

1 Cor 15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is in vain; ye are yet in your sins.

Question-How can believers be in sins knowing Christ is raised from the dead?

Great Truth-Believers live by their faith in this truth.

Habakkuk 2:4 …but the just shall live by his faith.

Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written; the just shall live by faith.

Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, the just shall live by faith.

Galatians 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.

Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Question-Who are the drawbacks?

Hebrews 11:4 By faith Abel  offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain by which he obtained witness that he was righteous.

Genesis 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.

Genesis 4:2 And she again bare  his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

Genesis 4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.

Note- Many people don’t realize that Cain and Abel were about 100 years old by this time.

So Cain knew what God required to be accepted.

Genesis 4:4 And Able, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

Genesis 4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

Genesis 4:6 And  the Lord said unto Cain, why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

Genesis 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Note-Sin crouches like a lion ready to strike! Cain refusing God’s offer of righteousness would result in Cain becoming a servant of Satan using sin as his obedient servant.

Great Truth neglected-The motivation of all lost people who refuse to get saved.

Ephesians 4:17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind.

Ephesians 4:18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

Ephesians 4:19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

Ephesians 4:20 But ye have not so learned Christ;

Note-Anybody can believe on Jesus Christ and be saved, but those who refuse become and remain motivated by self through sensuality and greed.

Note-Thou shalt in the KJV is a promise. In the ASV it is a  command, you must do. Steinbeck says it is a choice, thou mayest. Mine is that man has been given free agency, he can believe to obey God and receive God’s righteousness or refuse it. This is the way of Cain mentioned in Jude 11.

Jude 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the way Balaam for reward, perished in the gainsaying of Core.

Note-Gainsaying is to contradict, oppose and to speak against.

Note- Man believes unto righteousness or refuses and remains in the flesh an in his sins.

Great Truth Neglected-The importance of forgiveness is misunderstood.

Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace.

Note-The Greek word aphiemi is translated in the KJV as forgiveness, forgive, forgave which is to give up resentment against or the desire to punish.

Aphiemi = remittance, which means removal, to send away.

Note- When the Lord forgives, he removes sin.

Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Micah 7:19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Great Truth Neglected-Wake up to righteousness.

1 Cor 15:34 Awake to righteousness and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Note-Paul was speaking to those who were refusing to believe and receive the righteousness of God by believing on Christ Jesus.

Note-Believers are to live in this sinless righteousness of God and live by faith. To awake to God’s offered righteousness is to come to your right mind or right thinking which is not to sin, by believing on God’s righteousness in Christ Jesus which removes  the missing of the mark of God’s righteousness.

Note- All religions and cults are performance based; do this and don’t do that. I remember in Seminary a student came around always saying, we’ve got to get the sin out to have power and success. I told him, where have you been? Jesus died for us and took all our sin.

Great Truth Neglected-Confessing sin!

1 John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

1 John1:9 If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:10 If we say we have not sinned we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Note-John was dealing with the Gnostics who claimed they had no sin and were not saved. These passages have been applied to believers  to perform the basic teaching from Augustine (pronounced Augustin) and Pelagian Philosophy. They were draw backs refusing the true salvation.

1 John 1:6 If we say we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Great Truth Neglected-Fellowship is to walk in the light of the revelation of justification by faith.

Note- Fellowship with God is not maintained by confessing sins as is thought by many. Lost people still in their sins and the flesh say they confess their sins, but never forsake their sins because the only way to forsake sins is to get saved by calling on Jesus name to save. Then he removes them and you have fellowship. See Romans 10:13.

Psalm 91:14-16 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Great Truth Neglected-The True Bread From Heaven.

John 6:32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven (speaking of the manna, what is it?); but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven and giveth life unto the world.

John 6:34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Note-Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life. The only work acceptable to God is belief on Jesus whom he hath sent.

John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he has sent.

Great Truth Neglected-The Body of Christ is the spiritual body of all believers saved by belief on Jesus the true bread from heaven. It is not continuous wafer eating and wine drinking or eating matzos and drinking Welch’s grape juice. This is sense knowledge carnalism that Paul warned the Jewish brethren at Corinth. The hunger and thirst was still there.

1 Corinthians 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Note-Carnal means fleshly. They remained in the flesh and were yet in their sins.

Note-Paul could not speak unto the Corinthians as spiritual about spiritual matters.

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Romans 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Great Truth Neglected-God is greatest.

Psalm 48:1 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

Psalm 96:4 For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

Great Truth Neglected-Those who sin not!

1 John 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

Note-believers keep themselves by being born from above.

1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Isaiah 14:16 They that see shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose was the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Note-No believer can be demon possessed!

Note-Demon possession is not mentioned in the epistles!

Great Truth Neglected-Works of the flesh.

What are the works of the flesh?

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness (lewdness),

Galatians 5:20  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Galatians 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

Romans 1:27 And likewise  also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.

Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Romans 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, coveteousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

Romans 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventers of evil things, disobedient to parents,

Romans 1:31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable; unmerciful:

Romans 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

1 Corinthians 6:10 Nor thieves, nor coveteous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Note -Who are the overcomers?

1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

1 John 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is Son of God?

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Note-Works of the flesh are done by unbelievers refusing to believe on Jesus by calling on his name to save. The Apostle Paul said to the Corinthians, and such were some of you. But they had been washed, sanctified and Justified. He made the distinction, and such were  some of you.

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, walk in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these  are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Note-No one can be spiritual in the flesh! Believers are no longer in the flesh once they get saved.

Note-There is no two natures fighting within believers! Believers walk in the Spirit by getting saved and made righteous and just. Then they live by faith in this blessed truth which is neglected.

Truth Neglected- Salvation in Jesus Christ is not a Journey. Sanctification is not progressive or making progress. or a course.

Hebrews 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will,  O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices which can never  take away sins:

Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice  for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Hebrews 10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Note-Them that are sanctified and perfected.

Note-To sanctify is to set apart for God to believe him.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel  of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Note-It is not from one person’s faith to another! It is from one believer’s faith believing more and more what God has revealed.

Great Truth Neglected-Believers are to go on in spiritual matters. (pnematikos) They are not to be ignorant of these matters. A believer must study and go alone before God and receive into manifestation the indwelling Holy Spirit.
